. . .One of the best things about ArtVenture 2017, and there were many, were these new waxes developed by Finnabair for Prima Marketing. They have been available in larger scrapbook stores for a bit, but I've been holding out. I changed my view when I bought hardware from Tractor Supply. Everyday stuff that looks outstanding on a mixed media piece.
I've shared this beautiful 6X6 mixed media piece before. Now I want to write about the elements used to create it. The central pieces that anchor the design are basic washers; I'm partial to the lock washers that remind me of a pigs tail. Simple stuff, extremely inexpensive; it can be bought in bulk for as little as $2.49 per pound at Tractor Supply.
What makes mixed media so fun is a combination of the common and unusual. As you begin to pull together elements, think out side the box and do what you ENJOY!
