This is a piece where everything fell into place. This was my first time using the flourishes for texture; absolutely elegant. The sprays were perfect together; a range of turquoise, green and gold. After applying the gesso, I sprayed the flowers multiple times, and pigments we're so perfect I had no reason to paint. As a person who doesn't like glitter, I am having to admit that I love Finnabair's glitter. The product comes in small vials with a top that allows you to sprinkle the glitter precisely where you want it.
I went away in the middle of doing this piece to spend a week with Jen. We had the baby shower. It was great fun. Everybody loved passing the cucumber and Jen received a great start in anticipation of the newest Bean sprout. All the celebrating was done in the sun room and this is the view that we had. Their new home is amazing. I was really excited because the farm has a very Scottish long haired steer.
Now I'm home working on this. I am a huge fan of "Pink Fresh". I love their strategic use of words like "document" that I can incorporate into my layout. Transitioning from girl to boy is slow going, but I have wonderful inspiration. The tag was based on something similar, but not the same done by Tammy Tutterow. I'm so thankful she was able to jump-start my creativity; such a talent that woman.
It's a good thing I have ways to spend my free time. I'm anxiously waiting for the "stuff" to show up so that I can open my store. Fingers are crossed that it gets here soon. I'm totally confused, but as always hopeful.
In the meantime I'm headed to a play date with friends tomorrow. I'll be hitting the pillow thinking about what I can I do to make the most out of this fun time. Gotta love retirement. I encourage everyone to go out and ENJOY!
